Officials report several grass fire alarms over the past week. One blaze at the Roderick home burned three-quarters of a yard. Aldo D Wilson and others plan a postponed meeting of local officials to discuss forest fire prevention in Tewksbury Town.
The West Concord Softball League will begin in the second week of May. Sponsors and teams to be announced. Joe Sweeney of Bedford is the league president this year.

A ConcordA Lynn man lost control on Sudbury road near Heaths bridge road striking a bridge abutment after failing to negotiate a curve. He was arraigned the next morning on three complaints including operating under the influence of liquor driving so. endangering and his case was continued awaiting further trial.
Concord schedules Cancer Crusade Night with over 350 volunteers led by Mrs. Richard F. Wood and precinct chairs to distribute educational materials and encourage community donations to cancer control efforts. The drive urges residents to get checkups and contribute financially to fight the disease.
Concord Nancy Taft, a Denison University sophomore from Granville, serves on the publicity committee for the 17th annual Bonds of Friendship charity appeal. The drive has raised over $100,000 in 16 years for 20 charities. she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Taft of Monument Street.
The Lincoln planning board re organized for the year with George H. Kidder named chairman and Paul Brooks as clerk. Also serving are Walter F. Bog ner, Constantin A. Pertzoff, and R. Langdon Wales.
Concord hosts the first of five Thursday seminars at Alcott School at 7 30 p m sponsored by local selectmen and the Bureau of Government Research University of Massachusetts. Surrounding communities' selectmen are invited to participate.
Concord James Nelson Goodsell a former Chicago Sun writer and current assistant American news editor of the Christian Science Monitor will address a League of Women Voters open meeting on Wednesday. His talk, The Individual Key Factor in Politics, comes as the 1960 election year approaches. Goodsell has degrees from Principia College and Mexico City College and has written for the Times and Herald Tribune. He will help oversee Monitor coverage of the 1960 campaigns. The Voters Service Committee urges attendance. Meeting begins at 9:45.
Carlisle A 26 year old Littleton man was arraigned in district court at Concord yesterday morning on a complaint of exposing himself before two 12 year old local girls. He was picked up by Trooper Richard O Neil and Selectman Merrill C Hobart. The defendant, Thomas J Powers, Town road, was given a six months House of Correction term on an old case of larceny and another six months suspended sentence on the new complaint.
Concord Acton and Maynard Lions sponsor a free glaucoma clinic for residents over 40. Appointments through Emerson Hospital at EM 9-4340 Extension 208. clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Over 200 had already booked by early report.
Concord-Senior Youth Fellowship of Trinitarian Congregational Church plans a youth rally at Union Congregational Church Groton Sunday May 1. Members bring box lunches and will run both services for Young Peoples Sunday.
A Concord Bedford district junior leaders training conference drew 126 scouts at Bedford High School. Carl Getz opened sessions on troop and patrol organization with films on camping and jamboree planning.
Concord opened with a 14-5 loss at Werland and a 10-0 win at Ayer in non league play. Lowell saw Spindle City score four in the first inning before a hit, with Roger Mattison Tom Berlied Bill Douglas Dick Niemi and Dave Niemi sharing pitching duties and Bo Windheim catching. Wally Carew, son of the coach, is not playing this season.
Lions Club members served about 500 pancake breakfasts at an all day program Tuesday at the Veterans Building. The menu was well received and organizers hoped to repeat yearly with co chairmen Charles Wear and Kenneth L Creighton directing volunteers.
Thirty Concord High School students depart for a week in Hershey Pennsylvania. Miss Miriam C. Clark leads 22 girls on Sunday and Tuesday after the track meet while Coach Skip O’Connor takes eight boys. The groups will visit the city known as Chocolate City, reciprocating a prior student visit here three weeks ago.
At Powdermill Road and Sudbury Road in Concord, a 7:45 a.m. Friday crash involved David Hopkins 26 and George Demirjian 27. Hopkins allegedly had a faulty brake and will be summoned to court for driving so as to endanger. Demirjian was treated and released after being taken to Emerson Hospital.
Lexington edged Concord 5 to 2 in a preruarning Middlesex League game to claim the George E. Johnson Memorial Trophy. Bill Dawe hit a decisive triple in the seventh, while McDevitt led Lexington with two hits. Both starting pitchers allowed five hits as Tonder doubled for Concord.

Concord voters decide local affairs with hours from 12 noon to 8 pm. Precinct 1 uses State Armory, Precinct 2 Thor eau School, and Precinct 3 the Veterans Building. The main item is the GOP state committeeman race where Alexander Ellis Jr seeks to unseat incumbent Hitchcock Sudbury formerly Waltham.
Theresa Dempsey of Brighton married Kenneth Carroll of Los Angeles in a 3 pm Easter ceremony at Our Lady of Presentation Church. Rev. James Dalton officiated. reception at Commonwealth Country Club. The couple plans to reside in Los Angeles after a honeymoon trip to New Hampshire.
Sunday school workers conference held at Congregational Church. Tonight at 7 30 the Senior C E Society will hold a Slave Auction. Friday members attend Camp Fireside reunion at Swampscott. Saturday April 30 a spring missionary rally at Park Street Church Boston. Easter services well attended with sunrise at Old North Bridge sponsored by Trinitarian Congregational Church.
Thousands gathered in Monument Square for a dawn parade honoring Dr Samuel Prescott impersonator Charles Morgan and the 1960 Spirit Mobilization events. The program featured a 5 band march, a sunrise salute by Concord Independent Battery, and wreaths at Wright Tavern with a new sign highlighting the 1774 First Provincial Congress.
