The Maynard Anchor and Ack glee clubs welcomed groups from Lowell Lawrence Beverly Andover Methuen and locals for a banquet and songfest at the Masonic building Saturday night. Gavin Taylor Jr directed the singing and led the Anchor and Ark club to last year’s Symphony hall championship. The focal club and Beverly plan a concert in Beverly on April 26 and an Maynard concert in early May with a guest soloist. Maynard and Beverly have been invited to perform in a national concert in New York on April 28.

She was 63, born in Ireland, and lived much of her life in Maynard. She leaves three sons Francis J and Arthur S Desmond and Madeline and Welon Desmond.
