The Comanche County Farmers Fair Parade was postponed to Friday with a 10:00 a m start. Participants assemble at 9 80 a m near the county jail and march through the square to the Masonic building and back to the Fair Grounds. The parade will feature many local businesses and firms listed in the program.

Highway 67 Paving Contract Awarded for 17.48 Miles
The State Highway Department awarded a $27,650 contract to the 7. E. Ward Company of Dallas on September 8 to asphalt top 17.48 miles of Highway No. 67 from the Eastland county line southeast through Comanche and Erath counties via Rucker and De Leon. Work by John S. Hart plans a October 1 start and December 1 completion. this marks the county’s first paved highway and signals broader state paving plans along No. 10 from Brown county line through Comanche, Hasse, Proctor, and the Forath county line.

Comanche Public Schools Open After Summer Break
The Public Schools of Comanche opened in new and existing buildings Monday morning under Superintendent W. G. Barrett with 557 students on opening day, slightly below last year’s 561. The High School started with songs, readings, and performances, totaling 208 students, including 45 seniors, 34 juniors, 75 freshmen, and 12 more juniors than last year. Boykin Sells Large Meek of Sheep Near Comanche
Jim Boykin living six miles south of Comanche on Route 6 sold 800 ewes to Ed licon on Monday at 10.25 a head. He bought them less than four months ago and kept them on his ranch fattening for wool without extra feed. Liwon now pasturizes the sheep on Charlie Riveon’s ranch.
