The Comanche County Farmers' Fair opens Thursday September 15 for three days of exhibits livestock entertainment and parades. A 10 o'clock parade will feature 4 H clubs schools churches lodges and local businesses while Shugart's Shows offers rides and midway attractions. The fair's president C M Caraway notes high farmer interest and expects top exhibits, crowd sizes, and community cooperation from local firms and organizers.

Shipments of corn oats wheat and barley out of Comanche exceed all of 1926 by tenfold this season. Three more cars of corn load on Cotton Belt with at least fifty more expected before season end. Cotton Belt and Frisco lines show large totals for corn oats wheat barley compared with last year.

Comanche Peanut Market Opens With Early Harvest Prospects
C P St Clair representing Higginbotham Bros and Co bought the season's first peanuts from W R Clement who farms seven miles east of Comanche on J E Odell's land. Clement, with 60 peanut acres, expects about 30 bushels per acre. Most will not be ready for 30 days. St Glass says Comanche area crop looks good. Market opens around 1.25 per green peanut and may rise.

Road District 18 Receives Largest Tax Levy
Road Precinct No. 18 will collect over twice as much total taxes as other districts despite a 5 cent rate. District 5 raised to 1 dollar due to valuation decline after Humble Oil Company pulled storage oil. Tax figures show District 4 at 15 cents with 6890.82 dollars, Precinct 18 at 5 cents with 16032.36, District 1 at 36 cents with 6394.75, and District 2 at 1 dollar with 6150.50.
