The election to annex the Southern and Western part of Comanche County to the Upper Leon Soil Conservation District will be held Saturday September 18 at multiple voting boxes. Landowners in specified boxes may vote at their box or, if residing off the farm, at the box of their farm, with qualification as in a standard election.

The Commissioners Court of Comanche County appoints J. B. Allcorn as Service Officer for World War Veterans. The law allows counties to appoint such officers. Eugene Johnston Receives Purple Heart in Sicily
Pfc. Eugene E. Johnston of Comanche Route 1 was awarded Purple Heart No. 163,228 by Col. John H. Sturgeon in the Twelfth General Hospital in Africa for a July 12 wound near Gela Sicily while operating a machine gun. His parents received a photograph of the medal being pinned on him in a hospital.
