Col Gordon Simpson of Tyler was nominated for Associate Justice of the Supreme Court 260 298 to 185 745 over Richard Critz. Congressional results show Pickett 20 054 Patton 15 514 in the 17th district and Mansfield 13 772 Sulak 12 875 in the 9th.

Carl T. Putnam 83 of Gould Oklahoma visited his sister Mrs Charles Bowman at the home of her daughter Mrs S V Williams in Comanche. Putnam a Hamilton County pioneer now lives in Oklahoma and still farms 350 acres of wheat and hauled 4000 bushels to the elevator. He drove from his home to visit while his sister is bedbound with a broken leg. Nearby, Dick Gray of Gorman visited his brother Dr A J Gray.
