Large Lake Proposed on Leon for Water and Flood Control
A regional group from Comanche Dublin and De Leon toured a site near Paul Gray's three miles southwest of Proctor to evaluate a dam west of Gray's that would create a three to four thousand acre lake fifty to sixty feet deep. The project would furnish an unlimited water supply to Dublin De Leon and Comanche, provide flood control for about 40000 acres, and serve as a recreational center while avoiding highway conflicts and excessive farmland impact. The group urges local citizens to study the potential.
