Shower for Miss Magness at Miss Gage Home

A Friday afternoon shower given at Miss Ira B. Gage’s home honored Miss Eudell Magness. Guests received gifts from a basket carried by two young nieces, with punch and cake served as many well wishers offered cordial congratulations. City Applies New Water Meter Policy

The city announces it will provide a meter and run water to the property line for new customers, replacing the old rule that required buyers to supply their own meter and tap the mains. Rally Day Planned as Church Sees New Interest in Work

Beginning in September the church aims to awaken interest across all departments. Rally Day for Sunday School is set for the first Sunday of October with preparatory activities in the interim. A Teachers Standard Training Course started with two classes weekly, focusing on Pupil Study to equip Sunday School teachers for better work. The Brownwood Presbytery meets September 14 with about a dozen ministers and elders expected over two days. Rev. Guy Davis of San Angelo will preach the opening sermon. The pastor returns from a two week vacation to lead Sunday services at 11 A M and 8 P M, and the public is invited.
