General Election Next Tuesday in Comanche County

Voters go to the polls next Tuesday November Sth to choose state top offices for four-year terms. Polling sites include Comanche Box 1 Fire Station Box 2 Veterans Building De Leon Community Building and stations in Hazeldell Lamkin Gustine Hasse Proctor Sidney with 8 am to 7 pm voting hours. Democratic candidates are favored with multiple statewide races led by governor and attorney general in contest against Republicans and third parties.

Indians Go For 9th Victory In District Closer At Clyde

Comanche travels to Clyde for a Friday night District title clincher with a 7 30 kickoff. The undefeated Indians sit ranked third in Class AA and need a win to secure at least a tie for the championship if Eastland falters. Clyde, 5 2, boasts a strong line and tricky offense as Comanche eyes a repeat defensive effort and another scoring outburst.

Dudley Bros Hereford Bulls Set for 13th Production Sale

Dudley Bros will sell 231 two year old and coming two year old Hereford bulls at their Comanche ranch on Thursday November 7. The sale will be the largest Hereford production sale in the Southwest with buyers offered uniform volume from the entire production. Bulls are pasture developed with performance data available on sale day. Delivery is free within 1000 miles or to export points. Rural Electrification Loan Approved for Brazos Electric Co op

Congressman Omar Burleson announces a 10.253 million dollar Rural Electrification Administration loan at five percent to Brazos Electric Power Cooperative of Waco. Funds finance 52 miles of 138 kV and 42 miles of 69 kV lines, 62 miles of conversion, 13 substations, and system improvements. Emergency loan applications in Comanche County open for production and physical losses with deadlines in 1975.

Rural Electrification approves loan to Comanche County Telephone

Senator Tower announced the Rural Electrification Service approved a 1.56 million dollar loan to Comanche County Telephone Company Inc to connect 351 subscribers and lay 29 miles of new line. The project will upgrade Newberg Proctor and Sidney exchanges to single party lines and build a new dial central office in Newberg. Applicants need not prove lack of credit elsewhere.

Doggett Workshop Approved For Another Year

James Dudley announces that the Bill Doggett Workshop serving Comanche will continue another year with support from the Developmental Disability Agency and partially funded by the Comanche United Fund. The workshop invites public visits.

Band To Sponsor Smorgasbord At Comanche High School

The Comanche High School Indian Band hosts its annual Smorgasbord on Saturday November 9 at the Junior High School Cafetorium. Meal hour runs 11 30 a m to 2 00 p m with adult tickets at 2 50 and children under six at 1. Tickets are available from band students or at the door.

Beef Cattle Shortcourse Set in Comanche County

The Comanche County Livestock Committee sponsors a two night Beef Cattle Shortcourse November 7 and 12 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. in the Hospitality Room of the TP&L Building. Dr Daniel Rodgers will discuss range management and grasses for beef cattle. On November 12 Dr James Armstrong will cover cattle health and diseases. All beef producers are invited to attend both or either session.
