Mrs. J. H. Arthur is appointed Senior Field Worker for the State Welfare Department in Comanche, assuming duties October 5 after two weeks of Austin training. Born in Bowie County and reared in Comanche, she is a Comanche High School and Daniel Baker College graduate. She succeeds by Miss Faye Dixon and will oversee Old Age Assistance, Aid to the Needy Blind, and Aid to Dependent Children in half of Comanche County, with Miss Lucille Bruton in charge of the other half.

FSA Club Loans Now Available for 4-H and FFA Members

The Farm Security Administration announces club loans for 4-H and FFA members joining the Food for Freedom Campaign. Loans up to 150 dollars may fund calves pigs poultry seed plants fertilizer and garden projects with 5 percent interest and 1 to 3 years to repay. County FSA Supervisor Roy J. Peace says loans are easily and quickly made and a local FSA Office in Comanche offers more information.

George W Masters Dies After Ulcer Bleed at 68

George W Masters 68 of Shiloh Comanche County died Friday morning at 3 45 at Medical Arts Hospital Brownwood from a hemorrhage due to an ulcerated stomach. He moved to Texas in 1884 and is survived by his wife Mintie Burks and four living children J B Masters Tom L Masters George Robert Masters Georgiana Masters plus a sister Lala Masters. Funeral held at Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Len Dalton and McClure conducting. Pallbearers named. burial in Shiloh cemetery. An obituary notes he was a farmer and carpenter with a lasting family legacy. Reports also mention local CBS Chapter activities in Houston Nov 3 initiation. an ongoing church report.
