Additions Made to the Comanche Turkey Plant
The Comanche turkey plant will start operations on Thursday November 5 according to George McKinzie manager of Farmers Produce Co who expects the run this year to exceed last year. A new automatic scalding machine is added and the plant will handle four thousand turkeys per day this season. John B Collier of Fort Worth Poultry and Egg Company praised the support for the plant. The turkey season will bring income to county farmers and the picking season will employ three hundred people benefiting Comanche and the surrounding area.

Tax Collection Breaks Records in City October Remittance

The Court of Criminal Appeals overruled a motion for a new hearing in the Will Fritts murder case. Fritts was convicted of killing D P D W Hamilton and son Earl in Haskell County on October 24, 1928, and sentenced to death in Huntsville. He pleaded self defense.

Judge J. P. Hoff Fatally Hurt in Accident
John P. Hoff 71, a Comanche mill owner and prominent citizen, fell from a ladder at the Comanche Milling Company plant. He died at his home about eight thirty after being injured when the ladder toppled and struck his head. Witnesses Moody Helmick and C. O. Jones reported Hoff exclaimed Oh before the fall. He remained conscious briefly at home before passing away.
