Wink Wallace of Sipe Springs was arrested in townwood by Sheriff Wid Spivey and Deputy Perry St. Clair. Wallace faced charges of peanut theft after several hundred pounds were stolen from H. S. Halbrooks Beattie and Tom Summers. Police allege he sold about 5,000 pounds of peanuts last month that were believed stolen in Comanche to Brownwood.

Explosion injures three at Far mers Produce wharf
Two men were injured Tuesday afternoon when vapors from an empty gas line drum ignited and exploded at Far mers Produce. Earl Nelson 37 suffered severe arm and head injuries, Oran Ferguson 48 had head and body bruises, Manuel Morgan escaped injury. Nelson was taken to Brownwood hospital where his condition improved and doctors hoped to save his mangled arm.

D. P. Parker aged 36 the County Attorney since 1936 was found Tuesday afternoon in his private law offices with his left wrist slashed and bleeding. He improved by Thursday but remained weak. Parker a Gorman native and former Fort Worth linotype operator lived here for years. He was elected County Attorney in 1935 and renominated this year without opposition. Parker is Cumberland University Law School graduate and had been assisting the justice of the peace office during George C. Wetzel's illness.
