Rev. B. L. McCord and his wife arrived in Comanche October 21 to take residence at 408 East Grand as the new pastor family of the First Methodist Church. The 57 year old comes from Ranger where he led a three year tenure, with prior posts in Temple Weatherford Fort Worth and Frost. He holds a B A from Southwestern University and has three years of teaching experience.

Dudley Bros Gail Tom and Eltos announce a Hereford Bull Sale next Monday October 26 expected to draw buyers from several states. They plan to auction 93 bulls conducted by National Auction Company Fort Worth with Walter Britten and Bill Wright as auctioneers. The DB Ranch west of Coomanche showcases large top quality Herefords and a strong commercial herd, earning nationwide recognition for show cattle at Denver Kansas City Fort Worth and other cities.
Mrs Euell Arthur president of Comanche County Heart Council elected to the Texas Heart Board for a two year term. She will serve in class of 1966 an unexpired term of two years. Also named were Robert H Mitchell M D of Plainview as president and Fred Spencer M D of Brownwood as president elect for 1964 65. Heart Month is February and donations support heart disease programs.
A singing event titled Dublin Singing will take place at Highland Avenue Methodist Church in Dublin on Sunday October 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. Organizers invite the public to attend.
The FAA allocates 50885 for Comanche 1965 municipal airport in a 50 50 match with the city foundation. The plan calls for a 3600 by 60 foot N S runway a 2400 by 100 foot E W strip lights on the runway a beacon light wind cone and entrance road. The project aims to attract industry expand recreation and civil aviation.
Earl Albin will hold a 1 p.m. sale on Tuesday October 27 at the Earl Albin Ranch nine miles south of Comanche. Auctioneer Ike Hamilton of Louisiana will oversee bidding. The sale will feature Royal King progeny including 30 two and three year old studs fillies and geldings and 20 brood mares, plus ten early 1964 foals and other mares and stallions from a 1200 acre ranch.
Farmers in Comanche County will receive 1950s style Census of Agriculture forms by early November. The five year survey, conducted by the Bureau of the Census under the U S Department of Commerce, asks for farm size crop harvest livestock equipment and income figures. Enumerators will visit farms starting about November 23 to assist and collect completed forms.
The Comanche Indians prepare to host Granbury Pirates at 7:30 after a loss to Hamilton. Granbury, coming off a 22-6 defeat to Dublin, owns a kickoff return TD threat with 11 returns this season. Coach Oliver notes need for full effort all game.
