Rev. B. L. McCord Becomes New Pastor in Comanche

Rev. B. L. McCord and his wife arrived in Comanche October 21 to take residence at 408 East Grand as the new pastor family of the First Methodist Church. The 57 year old comes from Ranger where he led a three year tenure, with prior posts in Temple Weatherford Fort Worth and Frost. He holds a B A from Southwestern University and has three years of teaching experience.

Bill Parker Named To Comanche School Board Appointment

Bill Parker of the Comanche County Electric Co Op has been named to the Comanche School Board to replace resigning George R Willis. He will serve a three year term through April 1967. Parker, a Comanche County native, is married to Eloise Marshall and they have four children. He is active in church and community work and currently vice president of the Texas Electric Co Op Accounting Association.

Comanche Prepares Municipal Airport With FAA Support

The FAA allocates 50885 for Comanche 1965 municipal airport in a 50 50 match with the city foundation. The plan calls for a 3600 by 60 foot N S runway a 2400 by 100 foot E W strip lights on the runway a beacon light wind cone and entrance road. The project aims to attract industry expand recreation and civil aviation.

Earl Albin Quarter Horse Sale to Feature Royal King Stock

Earl Albin will hold a 1 p.m. sale on Tuesday October 27 at the Earl Albin Ranch nine miles south of Comanche. Auctioneer Ike Hamilton of Louisiana will oversee bidding. The sale will feature Royal King progeny including 30 two and three year old studs fillies and geldings and 20 brood mares, plus ten early 1964 foals and other mares and stallions from a 1200 acre ranch.

Farm Census To Begin Soon in Comanche County

Farmers in Comanche County will receive 1950s style Census of Agriculture forms by early November. The five year survey, conducted by the Bureau of the Census under the U S Department of Commerce, asks for farm size crop harvest livestock equipment and income figures. Enumerators will visit farms starting about November 23 to assist and collect completed forms.

Indians Host Granbury Friday in 7-AA District Battle
