Comanche County expects full turnout next Tuesday November 3 with county wide vote estimates between 3500 and 3800. Historical figures show 3809 in 1960 general election and 1964 contest hints at strong interest. Absentee voting was at 128 through Thursday morning and voters may cast ballots through Friday. Five pieces win ribbons: blue first prize for a 12 inch yellow rose plate, three red ribbons for two 12 inch plates with pink roses and a purple powder box, plus a white ribbon for a pale pink jewel box with pink roses and gold trim. a frosted glass with yellow roses wins a red ribbon. Louis G. Havelik heads the Comanche United Fund with Don alder Lacy as Drive Chairman announcing first collections on Wednesday October 28. The once yearly drive supports Boy Scouts Trail Council Local Troops Camp Fire Girls Livestock Assn Salvation Army Red Cross and contingencies totaling 7000. Officers include Roy Brannan Jr treasurer Ben Evridge Gilmore Durham Bob McElroy Bill Wilmann Don Lavender Roy Adams Ben Cleveland William Kirkland and Jim Carpenter. Carpenters and Adams lead house to house effort with Durham and Kirkland canvassing business firms.
Clarence L. Huett of Service Drug Store Comanche travels to Austin for the 13th Annual Post Graduate Pharmacy Refresher Course at the University of Texas College of Pharmacy Library. The theme is The Unfulfilled Roles of Pharmacists in Public Health. Clyde House and Enid Hays linked visits in Brady and Comanche history noted.
