First Baptist Church Holds Fall Revival
The First Baptist Church announces a Fall Revival in October 1923 running Wednesday through Sunday. Each evening begins with prayer meeting and choir rehearsals at 6 30 with services at 7 00 led by Dr. Malcolm Bane pastor of College Station Texas and musically directed by Charles Bingaman of Abilene Texas. Nursery will be provided.

Man Charged In Shooting Near Gorman Farm Home
A Tuesday afternoon shooting at a Comanche County residence four miles east of Gorman left a Gorman man critically injured. John Allen of Gorman was shot three times and transported to Hendrick Memorial Hospital Abilene after treatment. Artie Harris of De Leon was jailed as a suspect. Allen faces aggravated assault charges with bail set at 15000 by Justice of the Peace T N Walker. Deputies Robert Donaldson and Howard Westmoreland investigated.

Grand Jury Returns Indictments Against Proctor Couple
The Comanche County 220th District Court grand jury indicted Harrell Hurst and Nelda Hurst for assaulting peace officer Howard Westmoreland on September 28. Two counts allege intentional and reckless bodily injury while knowing Westmoreland’s status. Bond was set at $2,500 each.
