Red Cross School Of Dressings Opening In Comanche

Draft Rules For Induction Into Army Explained
Comanche County drafts are organized into four categories for call up. Category one covers single men without dependents, exhausted. category two singles with dependents. category three married men with wives only split into those not in essential industries and those in essential industries. category four married men with children. Those without children are prioritized over those with children, with timing varying by availability of 18 and 19 year olds. As of last June 30, 388 youths aged 18 or 19 were registered, 63 volunteered, 28 reached age 20 and were inducted, leaving 297 still subject to draft, and a child born more than nine months after December 8, 1941 is not considered a dependent.

Downing Man Shot by Neighbor in Comanche County
Charges filed in Justice Court at Comanche against Sol Pitts of Downing alleging assault with intent to murder Burt Lee who was shot in the leg with a shotgun Sunday night. Lee was taken to a German hospital for surgery and listed in satisfactory condition. Pitts is jailed on $1000 bond.

A White Leghorn owned by Charlie Deisher, Energy schools head and noted poultry raiser, won John Tarleton Agricultural College run high hen laying contest.
