Revival to Open at First Baptist Comanche
Rev. E J Gregory of the Mexican Baptist Orphans Home in San Antonio will lead a two week revival at the First Baptist Church in Comanche starting Sunday morning October 15 and ending with the October 29 evening service. Uncle Alex Neel Pioneer Citizen Dies in Gustine
Irvin Alexander Neel known as Uncle Alex, aged 95, died at his Gustine home on Saturday October 7 at 3 p.m. Funeral services were held at the Gustine Methodist Church with Pastor H. H. Barnett and other local ministers officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery. Born October 24, 1849 in Smith County Texas, he moved to Comanche County as a child and lived most of his life on a Gustine area farm. Survived by his widow Martha Jane Woods and ten children, forty grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.

Gustine Captain Wyche Back from 57 Raid Tour Talks Postwar Aviation

Capt Logen Ritchey son of Mrs Wallace Scott of Stephen ville returned from 11 months in the Mediterranean as a Marauder pilot. He earned the Purple Heart the Air Medal with clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross for leading a bomb run on the rail bridge at Rieti Italy.
