Fertilizer Boosts Peanut Yield in Local Demonstration
Frank Park near De Leon reported an 82 3 bushels per acre yield increase with fertilizer on peanuts at 1.16 dollars per acre. Tests on a quarter acre using 80 pounds of mixed 0-18-0 and 4-8-4 show 260 pounds per acre gain. at 85 cents per bushel profit nears 6.20 dollars per acre, totaling 155 dollars across 25 peanut acres. County Grants City Space for Square Parking
Sixteen additional feet across the south side of the square was allowed the City of Comanche by the Commissioners Court this week for parking space. Under a State Highway Department ruling the original space lay within the No 10 right of way. The old curb was torn away and will be replaced at the city's expense 16 feet nearer the court house with paving to follow. The county did not deed the land to the city, only allowed use for parking and reserved the right to repossess it later.
