The No. 1 Monthly Report lists seven convictions in precinct No. 1 Court for September totaling 1308 dollars and notes numerous vehicle registrations from De Leon and surrounding cities. It details cases filed, including fraud and license violations, plus appointments and probate matters.
Comanche High School Future Farmers of America selects four sweetheart nominees for the 1965 school year. Freshmen Janice Welch, Sophomores Ginger Seay, Juniors Jane Caraway, and Seniors Glenda Houck were chosen by Vocational Agriculture classes. Final winner to be announced at homecoming game alongside Queen, Football Sweetheart, and Band Sweetheart.
Mrs. Doshie Stark of 403 North Lane Comanche died at home Friday October 2 Services were held October 5 at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Isham officiating Interment at Onakwood Cemetery Pallbearers Ottis Anderson Sam Hanson Dick McGuire Howard Northcutt Louis Wilborn and Overton Stark Survived by ten daughters two sisters four brothers eighteen grandchildren twenty four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild born near Dublin Erath County April 22 to Mack and Louella McCarty Married to Jake Martin Stark August 16 1894 they had twelve children, one son and eleven daughters. He died January 3 1941. Noted church member and longtime Comanche resident.
Pvt. Dalton W. Limmer completed advanced training as a cannoneer at the Army Artillery and Missile Center Fort Sill Oklahoma on October 2. He trained as a member of artillery gun or howitzer crews after entering the Army in May 1964 and basic training at Fort Polk Louisiana. Limmers parents are Mr and Mrs Alfred A Limmer of Comanche Route 4. He attended Priddy High School and was a farmer before enlistment.
The Brotherhood of the First Baptist Church in Comanche met on September 29 with 28 members and one visitor. Opening prayer by Truman Hazelrigg. Chili supper served by a committee. Regular meetings set for the third Tuesday each month. Gail Dudley showed photos from the World Hereford Conference and was thanked. Closing prayer by Paul Goodwin.
