A jovial train of ex Confederates departs Comanche for Houston for the Confederate Veterans reunion. Among travelers are D B Wilhelm 83 and several others with identification certificates. Sumner elected Commander in Chief at Hamilton. crowd plans a monument unveiling for Confederate Generals in Houston.
The Simmons and Greer mercantile tile firm closes in town and shifts stock to Santa Anna to begin new business operations. Locals regret the closure but extend best wishes for success at the new location.
The revival at the Baptist tabernacle led by Pastor Forrest Maddox gains daily interest with strong crowds. Music by Rev Maddox and Mr Kochenberger enhances services from 10 to 11 a.m. and 7 30 p.m., encouraging community participation in the ongoing outreach.
Sipe Springs Record reports Ohio Fuel and Gas Company and New Domain Oil Company leased trackage land along the right of way near Sipe Springs Refining Company. Both firms began rack easing and improvements aiming to bring in large quantities of oil well supplies. Sun Company representatives also seek trackage to locate supply yards, signaling Sipe Springs as a growing hub in the expanding oil field.

Mr. A J Dillard manager of the Doerr Witliff agency of the Southland Insurance Company in Comanche attended a meeting of company solicitors at Waco last Saturday celebrating the opening of a local office. About eighty were present from twenty counties. Dillard played a prominent role in the interesting gathering. They enjoyed the occasion hugely.
George A. Shockley, a well known druggist in Santa Anna, died yesterday while en route to Hamilton. The obituary notes his standing in the community and his professional contributions.
Comanche High School delivered a dominant performance against Gatesville last Saturday, scoring four touchdowns with three via aerial plays. Morgan opened the scoring, Gill received a 45 yard pass from Reese for another, and the Indians overwhelmed Gatesville on offense while stifling the visitors’ drives.
Comanche boasts Texas finest public square in a town of its size. Concrete paving with asphalt and gravel yields a smooth firm surface. The central courthouse area features Bermuda grass cement walks and flower gardens to the curb. Paving cost $25,000 shared by county city and property owners.

Gatesville hopeful Hon J R McClellan campaigned in Comanche last week, shaking hands with friends as he pursues the district judgeship. He is the candidate for the district judge nomination and is meeting supporters across the region.

In Travis county Judge Ireland Graves ruled the American party qualifies to place nominees on the November ballot. A. T. Morris had sought to stop certification, claiming the party is not a legal political organization. The case was heard after a temporary injunction, and appeal was filed yesterday.
Indictments charging profiteering returned by the federal grand jury name 35 defendants from Oklahoma City including wholesale and retail grocers, four restaurants, two department stores, and two ladies ready-to-wear shops.
The adult Bible class led by Bro Klingman starts a new lecture series tied to quarterlies, while the Sunday school grows to twenty and supports the Juliette Fowler Orphans Home. A Zenith Motion Picture machine was installed for Sunday evenings, with free shows and a free will offering to cover running costs. Church committees met Wednesday night to review the fall program, and the Church Council will convene monthly. The local C W E M chapter was reorganized with three new members.
A couple from Comanche tied the knot Tuesday evening at the Christian parsonage with Rev. C. C. Kling officiating.
N A Shaw of Texarkana, president of the Texas Farmers League, telegraphs Senator Harding urging support for cotton farmers. He cites delays to the peace pact, the Federal Reserve Board stance, and import pressures as harming cotton prices and asks Harding for a public position on the matter.
