The Greater Comanche Community Fund will kick off on October 7 with Campfire Girls Blue Birds and the Discovery Club distributing envelopes. Donations support Salvation Army Red Cross Civil Defense Library Mental Health and Mental Retardation Junior Livestock Show Senior Citizens Campfire Blue Birds Boy Scouts and the Summer Youth Program.

Hospital Now Is District Property In Comanche County
Officials of the Comanche County Hospital District took control of the local hospital from Comanche Community Hospital, Inc. on Tuesday afternoon October 4. The district acquired title to the hospital property and equipment. Administrator Dorothy Cumming remains in place and the medical staff will operate clinics at the current location. The board approved issuing 200000 dollars in bonds for the purchase and improvements. Board members include Vic Isham Jr, Sid Carney, Tom Mazurek Jr, John Lochridge and Kenneth Gibson.
