Comanche County peanut producers will travel October 9 to the Texas A and M Tarleton Experiment Station at Stephenville for a field day. The program starts at 1 p.m. with a Q&A and includes many booths where specialists will advise individual growers. Station Superintendent J S Newman will introduce speakers on topics of interest to peanut producers.

City Sets 1 Percent Sales Tax Election for Comanche
The Comanche City Council called a special election for Saturday November 1 to adopt a 1 percent sales tax on taxable purchases within city limits. Polls open at City Hall and all residents within the city may vote. The tax is expected to raise over $100,000 annually for city improvements including streets and water projects. Comanche joins Brownwood De Leon Hamilton Dublin and Stephenville in having the additional tax.
