Peanut harvest in Comanche reaches 16 million pounds
Roughly 16 million pounds of peanuts have been handled in Comanche this season with daily moves over 800000 pounds last week. Officials expect two more weeks of activity and predict about 96 percent harvested by then as Durham Peanut Company Luke Palm and other plants process the crop from over 90,000 acres.

Rites Held For W. L. Holmsley At Comanche Church
Funeral services were held at the Comanche Church for W. L. Holmsley of Comanche who died November 26 in Dallas after treatment at Baylor Hospital. Pastors C. C. Klingman and J. W. White led prayers with bearers including Jack Moore and D. R. Conner. Holmsley, born April 2 1869, was buried in Oakwood Cemetery alongside relatives. Survivors include a daughter in Philadelphia, a son in Dallas, another daughter in Midland, and siblings in Dallas, Houston, and Comanche.

Mrs Guy Carnes 71 died suddenly at her Proctor home from a heart attack Monday morning. She had been in failing health for weeks. Funeral services were at First Baptist Church Dublin Tuesday at 2 pm, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery Comanche. She was Eva Henson before marriage to Guy Carnes fifty years ago.
