Fire destroys Slider Building and multiple shops

A midnight blaze on the square destroyed the Lionel Slider Building and the Marshall Barber Shop. Ruby and Jane's Grocery suffered losses. upper floors of adjacent buildings also damaged. The fire caused five to six thousand dollars in total losses with insurance coverage incomplete. Firefighters confined the flames despite early fears of a wider block fire.

Reese Family Welcomes Daughter Carolyn

Dr and Mrs Jim Eanes Reese of Dallas announce the birth of a daughter named Carolyn on Friday morning November 20 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Both mother and child are reported to be doing fine. Dr Reese is a professor of economics at Southern Methodist University.
