Christmas Turkey Market Opens About December 1
The Christmas market will open around December 1 with turkeys from the Farmers Produce Company. George C. McKinzie, manager of the local dressing plant, says turkey quality will exceed the Thanksgiving level due to a strong county feed crop. Eleven cars of dressed turkeys were shipped for Thanksgiving and about 60 percent were sold. Five other local firms, Butler Produce, John George Produce, McDonald and Langford, Beene Produce, Bain Produce, and Norrid Produce, are also buying turkeys this fall.

Hung Jury Ends Parker Case in Texas Court
