Man Fatally Shot Near San Juan Named Tom Young

Tom Young a 45 year old former Comanche resident was shot on the outskirts of San Juan and died days later in a McAllen sanitarium. A. L. Smith is held on 25000 bond for his murder. Relatives say motive is unknown. He is survived by a widow two sons and a daughter and his mother Mrs M A Young. Brothers and sisters are listed.

Comanche County turkey sales on the Thanksgiving market exceed fifty thousand dollars with No 1 birds at 19 cents a pound, seven cents above the season start. About nine loaded dressed turkey cars, totaling roughly 180000 pounds, sold as growers note unusually fat birds due to a rich grain crop and higher prices overall.
