Gustine F F A members Nabers Gleaton R J Stateville Charline Craig led a poultry judging team at Stephenville with Gleaton scoring 456 of 500. The Gustine livestock team also competed with members Bo Lagrone Richard Davis George Stephens Er C Estes Gaston Green and Alton Mercer. Richland Springs led with 1178 points while Gustine totaled 1174 in team scores.

Cases disposed include J H McKinney guilty to liquor transportation with a three year suspension, L E Gooch guilty to burglary with a three year penitentiary term, Gene Price burglary two years, J E Price DWI two years suspended and six months driving prohibition. State v Bert Williams DWI continued while Rex Lightfoot burglary continued. State v Hunter Russell burglary pending. The State v John Walker liquor case was expected to conclude this week.
Frank Gregory, 19, was shot dead in Desdemona, Eastland County, as H L Forrester, a school teacher, was jailed on a murder charge. A note threatening Forrester and a skull sketch were found at his doorstep. Forrester said Gregory demanded a confrontation. firing from the porch killed Gregory, who allegedly refused to leave after a dispute. Forrester released on 1500 dollar bond pending grand jury action.
Paul McCarty, 33, charged with murdering his father J F McCarty near Carlton on September 15, was sentenced to 75 years after a weeklong trial. Jury deliberated since Monday with nine voting for death on the first ballot, two for life and one for a shorter term. No motion for a new trial or notice of appeal has been filed yet.

L. Dillard was summoned to Wellington last week due to the serious illness of his father H. B. Dillard. The family asked for prayers and reported his condition as steady yet serious.
Mr and Mrs A P Mercer and Mr and Mrs M S Elms with children of San Angelo and Mrs Faye Carter of Fort Worth visited Mr and Mrs LC Dillard and other relatives in Comanche Sunday.
