County Agent J A Barton says interest is up for the Comanche Annual Turkey Show to be held December 7 with entries in all breeds. Entries must be in place by 10 30 a m and pens are furnished free. Ribbons will be awarded and judges provided. The event promotes educational exchange and draws breeders from across the region.

Roy Townsend and Thelma Virden were married November 15 by Rev. S. G. Posey at San Marcos Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. Dalton Phillips and Viola Bradshaw of Gorman. Itcy Lovell of Carbon and Lila Horton of Gorman also listed. Births record a son Joe born November 6 to Mr and Mrs Jesse Scott of Comanche. Deeds show Arthur C Jones and wife selling 49.5 acres in G W Cummins Survey to W B Wagnon for 1510 dollars.
Government figures show Comanche county may raise cotton acreage to 64 000 1932 from 65 000 1931 but statewide totals must fall from 16 778 000 to 10 186 000 acres. The law caps cotton at 30 percent per farm and restricts replanting after 1981. Estimates flag large cuts in Ellis Falls Bell and Jones counties among others while some counties including Brown Eastland and Coleman see increases.
Fire at five am Monday gutted the roof of Frank Kirkland’s four room residence in South Comanche. Officials suspect a defective flue started the blaze, but quick fire department action saved part of the structure and neighbors moved most furniture to safety. Insurance covered part of the loss.
Fire destroyed the Apostolic Church in South Comanche Friday evening after neighbors found the building ablaze. The former residence owned by Mrs. B. F. Amos was partially insured. several seats books and other property belonging to the congregation were lost. Dr. and Mrs. T. M. Rutherford traveled to Germany last week for medical care.
Comanche County harvested 438 bales from 85 000 acres by November 1, with next year’s crop limited to 68 000 acres and no material change in overall output expected. The note highlights acreage trends and local production figures.
