The Delta Kappa State Regional at Tarleton State College Stephenville drew chapters from Fort Worth Cleburne Mineral Wells Gatesville and Brownwood. Four Gamma Zeta candidates joined during a full day of sessions speeches and a luncheon in the Cardinal Room with Miss Lola Rivers Thompson giving the invocation and Dr Stella Traweek delivering the keynote Forward Moving Ever.

Pfc. Alvis W Williams 19 son of Mr and Mrs Luther Williams of Comanche Texas serves as a medical corpsman with the 8162d Army Unit at the U S Army Hospital in Fukuoka Japan. He joined the Army in February 1954 and completed basic training at Fort Bliss Texas and was formerly employed by Vaughan and Taylor Construction Company.
Mr and Mrs Floyd Prather traveled to Louisiana visiting Crawley in the early week. They arrived by plane and planned local sightseeing during their stay.
Kirk Pettit, a Donna based vocational agriculture teacher for four years, becomes area 10 supervisor covering 30 South Texas counties. He succeeds E. C. Weekley, keeps office at Roy Miller High School, and will oversee about 3,600 Future Farmers of America across 90 advisors in 76 departments. Pettit, a 20 year veteran, holds a B S in agricultural education from Texas A and M 1935 and a 1940 M A degree, native to Comanche County.
John H Howze 88, a former Comanche County farmer, died in a fire that destroyed his living quarters at a Brownfield drive-in theatre where he served as night watchman. Services were held at First Methodist Church with burial in Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Authorities cited accidental death pending investigation after a possible oil stove explosion.

The ninth annual Shrine benefit football game in Austin features Texas A M freshmen meeting the University of Texas Saturday afternoon November 19. Proceeds aid the Ben Hur Shrine clinic aiding crippled Central Texas children. Tickets are $1.50 at the gate. this rubber game in the Shrine series favors the Aggie Fish after last year’s three touchdown win.
