The Scott Oil test well at 3550 feet on the W B Scott Ranch near Roch and Comyn communities in Dublin began with 250 gallons of acid and 1900 pounds pressure. Swabbing indicated a continuous flow of two barrels per hour. Drilled by Coats and Foster of Lubbock, the well is expected to yield 50 barrels daily with further testing planned.

Funeral Rites Held For Pfc. B. B. Holmes WWII Veteran
Funeral services were set for Pfc. Bob Holmes at Comanche Funeral Home with Elder Len Dalton in charge. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery. Comanche VFW assisted at the military rites. Holmes, a 1942 Comanche High School graduate, died of wounds received in Germany on March 2, 1945 after serving in the ETO and earning an infantry badge. He was 18 at death, born June 29, 1926 in Comanche, and survived by his parents and seven siblings in Lubbock.
