Carnes Brothers Lease 3000 Acre Ranch North Of Blanket
Pat and Pete Carnes of Comanche have taken a four year lease on a 3000 acre ranch ten miles north of Blanket in Owens known as the old Billy Burns Ranch. The owner is Dallas attorney McGul liver Muse. The property includes 300 acres in cultivation and 746 ewes with 150 more to be moved from the Carnes farm. They plan to stock the ranch with 100 steers and 400 goats and will divide time between Comanche and the new headquarters.

Mrs. Mary Fields, Comanche County Clerk, is in critical condition at a Gorman hospital after initial transfer from Dallas. Dallas authorities said no effective treatment was possible, leading to her return to Gorman Moray for care. The Comanche County AAA Committee, led by County Judge H. H. Lockridge, attended a district AAA meeting in Waco Tuesday.

Assault Charge Filed Against Bowie Officer
Lieut. Robert Pernell of Camp Bowie Medical Corp faced aggravated assault charges in County Court after a Comanche woman reported being forced into Pernell's car at gunpoint near the Central Christian Church. William Reese 85 dies. lasting Comanche civic leader
Funeral services for William Reese 85 will be held at 3 pm at the First Baptist Church of Comanche with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Reese founded the Wm. Reese Drug Company in 1891, sold it about 20 years ago, and served as treasurer of the Comanche Baptist Association for more than 45 years and as a deacon since 1888. He died Thursday afternoon at his home after a brief illness.

Williford And Burnett Injured On Road Work
Earl Burnett and Harvey Williford, road workers in Commissioner's Precinct Number One, were hurt Tuesday afternoon near Comanche when a portable crane shovel dropped while they repaired braces. Burnett, trapped for twenty five minutes, suffered a crushed left arm and head cuts. Williford had hand cuts. Both were treated at Gorman Hospital.
