G C Levisay Dies At Blanket

Gee Cleveland Levisay, 83, died at his Blanket home Tuesday morning. Funeral was held 2:30 p m Wednesday at the Blanket Methodist Church, Rev J B Williams officiating, burial in Rock Church Cemetery. Survived by two sons C A Levisay and T E Levisay of Blanket, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother Frans Levisay and sister Miss Sarah Levisay of Comanche.

Comanche C E S Chapter Honored by Grand Chapter

The Comanche Eastern Star Chapter No. 310 earned honors at the Grand Chapter meeting in Amarillo as Theresa Dudley was elevated to District Deputy Grand Matron. Representing the chapter were Worthy Matron Mrs. Ira Clemons, Mrs. Lottie Hart, and Miss Theresa Dudley. The group noted past matron and district deputy credentials. The next Comanche meeting is set for Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Masonic building.

Claudia Fisher Named Comanche County Clerk

Miss Claudia Fisher was appointed county clerk by the Comanche County Commissioners Court to succeed Mary Haynes Fields who died in a German hospital. Fisher, a Comanche High School honor graduate, served as deputy clerk for seven and a half years and is recognized for efficiency and courtesy.

Death of Mrs. Mary Fields County Clerk

Mrs. Mary Fields 46 longtime Comanche County Clerk died Saturday in a German hospital after illness. Services were at De Leon Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon. burial in Sandhill. She is survived by son Dewey Fields, mother Nora Haynes, and brother John Haynes. she had a daughter who died in infancy. Born May 15 1895 in Navarro County, she lived in De Leon and Sidney before moving to Comanche in 1937. Elected county clerk in 1938 and 1940. member of Comanche Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge. Married 1920 to Lucian Fields who died in 1934.

Funeral for William Reese draws crowd at Comanche church

A near full Baptist Church gathers Friday to honor William Reese former Comanche druggist and businessman with services led by Rev. E G Gregory Jr assisted by Rev. T N Carter and Rev. A Edwin Wilson. Interment follows at Oakwood Cemetery. Reese born 1856 in Kaufman County built a notable local career including William Reese Drug Company and roles in the Comanche Cotton Coil Company and an early peanut oil initiative.

Walter Garrett Dies In California

Walter Garrett aged 45 died in San Francisco California Tuesday according to his wife who notified his mother Mrs Jennie Garrett in Comanche. Mrs Jennie Garrett planned to travel to California by train to fetch her son's body and expected return with it by Sunday or Monday or possibly Tuesday. Mrs Ollie Trippe Jennie’s sister said details of death were unavailable and that a wire was not expected until today or Saturday.
