Durham Pharmacy Remodeling Underway in Durham Building

Remodeling and expansion at Durham's Prescription Pharmacy in the Durham Building 111-13 North Houston aims to create a full fifty foot store front with a new 24 foot liquid caramelic fountain and modern prescription room. Cliff Reynolds and Matt Sherrill lead the project with completion expected in five to six weeks.

Col Blakemore Killed In Japan to Be Buried Here

Cpl Oliver Blakemore 44 of Comanche was killed in the line of duty in Japan during May 11 18. Burial will be in Comanche with body en route home expected in six to eight weeks. Survivors include his wife Ruth Blakemore Lubbock and five sisters in Comanche Houston Fort Worth Coleman and Corpus Christi.

Mrs A J Cunningham Dies At 77 In Brownwood

Nannie Earl Holman Cunningham 77 widow of Andrew Cunningham died Saturday in Brownwood after living in Comanche most of her life. She was a longtime member of St Matthew Episcopal Church and is survived by daughter Jannie Lee of Brownwood and a granddaughter Charlotte Lee, plus two sisters and two brothers. Funeral was at St Matthew's with interment in Oakwood Cemetery.

Comanche Rodeo Dates Set For August

Comanche announces August 8 9 10 for its annual rodeo with Joe Evridge as secretary. Harvey Brown of Lightning C Ranch Hazel Dell will lead the event stock from Lightning C Ranch backing stock for major rodeos. The 1947 rodeo is Rodeo Cowboys Association approved and offers 1500 in added cash prizes.
