Water Works School Examinations Conclude Today

The State licensed Water Works School sessions end today in Comanche with examinations for licenses to be held at City Hall auditorium. Community meeting at Woodman Hall invites all women

Teachers suffer first losses in local softball action

The VFW nine defeated Marshall's Teachers 15-5 on Friday. The RBA men crushed Teachers 24-2 Monday, then Teachers beat Vocational School 17-4 on Tuesday. Higginbotham's moved into first place with a 11-5 win over Texas Peanut, while Comanche All-Stars shut out Eastland 5-0 in Eastland.

Cavalcade to benefit Comanche High School auditorium show

The famous Eastern Cavalcade will present a program at the Comanche High School auditorium Thursday night June 5 at 8 30 oclock. Here From Arkansas 10-year-old boy Mr. and Mrs. Kay Burrow and daughter Bonnie Sue of Arkadelphia Ark spent from Wednesday to Monday with his uncle Mr. and Mrs. W A Langley and sons in the Indian Creek community. This was Mr Burrow's first visit to Texas since 1926.

Public Hearing On Soil Conservation District Scheduled

A public hearing sponsored by the Comanche Chamber of Commerce will be held in the District Courtroom in Comanche on Tuesday June 10 at 2 00 p m regarding annexation of parts of Comanche County to the Upper Leon Soil Conservation District. Farmers urged to form county farm bureau group

Comanche County farmers are called to meet at 8:30 p.m. Monday in the district courtroom to form a local Texas Farm Bureau Federation organization. Marvin Carter, the federation’s organizational director, outlined aims while Herman Rauhut was elected temporary chairman. Local farmers from surrounding counties are expected to attend.

Homecoming at Carlton June 13

Paul Whitton announces two new instructors for the Comanche County Vocational School. Nabors Gleaton of Comanche heads a cabinet making class, a full time two year course demanding 25 hours weekly. Gleaton brings fifteen years in carpentry and cabinet making, a Gustine High School graduate who attended Howard Payne College. R. Dee Price joins as agriculture teacher for the De Leon class, a Texas A&M College agricultural education graduate with ten years in the ACA and seven in the Soil Conservation Service.

Henry Durham taken by death in Comanche community

Henry Harrison Durham 58 a Comanche County native and longtime Comanche business man died at the local hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church with Rev.
