Comanche Graduation Honors Across Grammar and Ward Schools

The 1915 16 session closes with grade graduations at Grammar and Ward schools. Diploma recipients move from Grammar to High School and from West and East Ward to Grammar School. Commencement sermons and plays conclude with record attendance and praised performances by Thelma Gray, Paula Gage, and Mrs. Scurry. 31 graduates honored.

Fort Worth's James Swayne places his name in the announcement column as a candidate for Congress from the 12th District. He has long served the city as city attorney, county attorney, and District Judge now in his second term. Swayne, a former State Senator during Jim Hogg’s governorship, backed the Governor’s measures. He ran second in a prior congressional bid after a short three week campaign and this year pursues a three months campaign. He is described as capable and an excellent public servant.
