W. G. Streckert was named assistant manager of the Brownwood District by W. P. Murphey, district manager for Texas Power and Light. A Brownwood resident since 1919 and TP&L employee since 1921, Streckert has held various posts and led local veterans groups. He is active in the Chamber of Commerce and family man, married to Lois Bryer with three children.

Stamps Quartet Gospel Program at Comanche High

Tragic Odessa Crash Claims Ben Jones and Boy
Ben Jones a 55 year old Comanche trucker was killed Sunday in Odessa when his truck was rear ended while he sold a watermelon to a one year old Odessa boy. The 82 year old driver also died and two other crashes linked to him are noted. Funeral services were held May 20 in Comanche.
