Comanche Junior High Holds First Grad in Years

The Comanche Junior High graduation takes place Saturday May 25 at 10:00 a.m. in the cafetorium. Bonnie Sudderth provides piano for processional and recessional. H. R. Jefferies will address the students. David Andrews presents the class to Brooks Kerley who distributes diplomas. Ninety-five students graduate. no special recognitions.

Gustine FFA Invitational Rodeo Promises Thrilling Three Nights

Gustine hosts a three night FFA Invitational Rodeo from Thursday to Saturday May 25 with grand entry at 8 p.m. and 11 events including bare back bronc riding barrel race goat sacking and tie down roping. A street parade Thursday and a Norse and Float Parade Saturday precede a 6 p.m homecoming chicken supper. twenty one schools are invited and nightly drawings offer a $25 Saving Bond. Admission 75 cents adults 50 cents students contestants.

City Pool Opens Saturday at Lake Eanes Park

With the end of school the city pool at Lake Eanes Park begins summer hours 2 p m to 9 p m on weekdays and 2 to 6 p m Sundays. It is closed Wednesdays. Lifeguard is Jamey Williams and Bennie Williams runs concessions. Admission 25 cents for 12 and under and 50 cents for adults.

Dial 356 5821 for minute accurate time and temperature ranges from minus 40 to plus 120. The system uses dual lines with battery backup and a tower mounted sensor for downtown accuracy.
