Ten years ago an election in De Precinct yielded 314 to 245 with a 15 cent road tax. Dewitt bought Montgomery land of 225 acres near a Comanche school and the Colium farm of 218 acres for 000. Mose Anderson sold five on day at 14 cents a pound then bought pork at 30 cents. Col Roosevelt references and Texas volunteers are noted. L. G. White, pastor, resigns. Priddy School Plans May Graduation Exercises
Priddy elementary and high schools schedule closing events for May 25 and 26 1937. Weimar F Hein Hilma E Hein Ima E Hein and Viola Limmer are named for vocal and instrumental performances with Rev A T Kluge and Supt J Oscar Swindle presiding. An all day program includes a concert at 2 PM and dinner on the grounds with baseball games to follow. Proceeds benefit an unspecified cause.

At a May 15 meeting of fruit and truck growers in Comanche territory the group agreed to form an organization and adopt the Comanche Chamber of Commerce plan for the season. Hilton Burks will assist by contacting buyers and has sent one hundred letters to dealers, grocers, brokers and truckers in Texas Oklahoma and Kansas. Growers are asked to list acreage and prospective production with Burks for market help at no cost through the chamber.

Cheese Freight From Farm to Market Across States
On May 18 three Farmers Produce Company trucks departed Co Manche carrying 25000 pounds of cheese to Houston southern Louisiana and Dallas. Wholesalers will sell to retailers as the cheese reaches thousands of consumers. Truckers regularly haul to many states led by GM manager George C Lyne. The local plant also received 125 coops of poultry averaging about 30 chicks each.

The State Highway Department in Austin ordered a seal coat for Highway 10 East from Comanche to the Brath County line after an appropriation for hot topping the section west from Comanche to Blanket. The seal coat aims to repel water and extend the road life.

Connally push to extend 34% Farm Loan interest rate
Senator Tom Connally said he will urge extension of the 34 percent interest rate on certain federal land bank farm loans. House Bill 6763 has been favorably reported to the House. without passage by July 1 the rate would revert to 44 percent.

Miss Lucille Klingman Dies in San Angelo
Miss Lucile Klingman daughter of Rev C C Klingman died at a San Angelo hospital after years of illness. Interment was in a Dallas cemetery. She spent childhood in Comanche where her father served as pastor of the Central Christian Church and taught at Comanche High School.
