Comanche High School sent eight students to two state meets in Austin and College Station May 2 and 3. Jerry Gregory took second in Senior boys declamation and Frances Ann Dean placed third in typing at the University Interscholastic League meet in Austin. The FFA livestock judging team finished second at A&M College with Robert Willis leading individuals, while team members included Paul Smith Diamond Powers and Tom Cunningham. All contestants previously won district and regional honors, marking one of the school’s best years.

Priddy Bank Robbery Yields About 100 Dollars Stolen
Burglars entered the Priddy Farmers and Merchants Bank Monday night and escaped with between 75 and 100 dollars. Sheriff C. F. Stubblefield said the rest of the bank was entered but the safe remained unopened. The bank is owned by C. F. Jeske and daughter Mrs Eleanor Jeske Gromatzky and sits behind the Priday Mercantile Company.
