County Agent J A Barton along with R T Nabers Mark Stephens P H Walser and D J Simmons secured 26 registered Jersey cattle for Comanche dairy herds. Five heifers 21 calves one cow and a bull from Van Aistine and Cleburne arrive Friday and will be displayed at the Jersey Show after settling in Monday. The purchase aided by the Comanche Lion's Club aims to improve local milk cow breeds with headlined varieties Fox Ox Youll Do Nobles and Torners.

Hood couple marked 60 years of marriage in 1868
Port Worth Star Telegram reports Mr. and Mrs. Hood celebrated sixty years of marriage in 1868 and earlier moved to Comanche County in 1895 where they have resided since. They had eight children, eight of whom survive, plus 27 grandchildren eight great grandchildren and two additional great great grandchildren.
