Miss Iva Hart longtime county treasurer and insurance agency owner died Saturday night at 8:20 after a stroke two weeks earlier. Funeral services were at First Methodist Church Comanche with Rev. Gordon and Rev. Walker officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Hart native of Comanche lived in her birthplace home. attendance included many relatives and friends from Brownwood Ballinger Austin Arlington and Fort Worth.

A 325000 damage suit against Southwest Natural Gas Co. filed in U S District Court Fort Worth ties to a Comanche explosion that killed Carroll Anderson and damaged a building. Imogene Anderson, his widow, seeks 200000 for herself and two children plus his parents. Central Texas Fertilizer Co. asks 125000. The Comanche blast on December 1 1955 hurled Anderson into the street. he was 42 with a life expectancy of 27.62 years. The case moved from Comanche District Court after being ruled no case at hearing.

Merger of Texas and Oklahoma Telephone Firms Effective April

Walter W. Wright of the General Telephone Company of the Southwest announces the merger of the Texas Telephone Company based in Sherman and the Oklahoma Telephone Company based in Broken Arrow with General Telephone, creating the North Central Division in Sherman. R. S. Griffin becomes division manager. Texas staff receive new titles including R. L. Cole as division commercial superintendent and F. K. Shock as division traffic superintendent. F. E. Messecar becomes district manager at Broken Arrow.

Rabid Skunk Kills Pet Dog and Two Cattle

Gustine forms new Boy Scout Troop number 100

A new Boy Scout Troop was organized in Gustine with Brent Daniels as Scout master and Wade Collins as assistant. Sponsored by the First Methodist Church of Gustine, nine boys attended the first meeting. The event increases the Comanche Trail Council to 100 units with 2,044 Scouts, 73 sponsoring organizations, and 865 leaders.
