John W Harris Dies at 76 in Indian Mountain Community
John W Harris aged 76 died suddenly at his home in the Indian Mountain area, heart attack judged the cause. He married Mary Ann Underwood in 1885 and leaves six daughters Mmes Jim Broom Tony Broom Parker McDaniel Mattie Burkett Dave Fincher and Ress Fincher, with two sons deceased in infancy. Funeral held at Oakland Cemetery with Bro Willie Skaggs officiating. Higginbotham Bros. handled arrangements.

Pettit county official warns all Texas drivers in the county to display 1941 license tags on highways by Wednesday April 2 to avoid penalties. Deputies visited large voting boxes to register vehicles, licenses available at De Leon City Hall substation and Comanche courthouse annex, with many owners yet to purchase.
