Comanche County School Superintendent Dale Howard was critically hurt Tuesday night in a collision near Goldthwaite. He suffered a fractured skull and multiple injuries. by Thursday his condition was listed as satisfactory at Medical Arts Hospital in Brownwood. The truck driver and his wife were lightly injured. Roy Wilson transported Howard to Brownwood.

Glenn Frazier, longtime Comanche High School coach since 1925, chosen to lead Mexia High School Black Cats. He will leave Comanche April 6 to begin spring football at Mexia, earning a $2100 salary. His seven years at Comanche yielded two district titles, a shared title, two second-place finishes, and one third place.
