Funeral services for Maggie Telitha Banner were held at the Board Church in Comanche County with Rev. Sterling Sham and Rev. T. N. Carter presiding. Burial followed in Board Church Cemetery. She died March 5 in Fort Worth after arriving six hours earlier. survivors include seven children and thirteen grandchildren.

Ist Lt. Wilton E. Wyche 24 of Gustine Texas earns the third Oak Leaf Cluster to his Air Medal for leading P-38 Lightning missions over Kiel and Frankfurt with the first P-38 group from RAF England. Led by Lt. Col. Jack S. Jenkins the unit protects Fortresses and Liberators. Wyche damaged an ME 109 in air combat and praised for outmaneuvering German fighters while escorting heavy bombers. Wyche’s air service began as a field engineer before enlisting in August 1942.
