60 000 Go From Trades in Class One
Provost Marshal General Crowder will begin within a few days calling out for special instruction the men in the draft needed by the army in technical positions. A general survey of educational institutions is in progress to determine colleges and industrial schools available for training during the summer months. Probably 60,000 men from class one will be ordered out for special training. Local draft boards will publish the opportunity to registrants to obtain voluntary inductions.

Comanche Delegation Attends Oil Belt Highway Meeting
A Comanche delegation led by H. Burks and J R Eanes attended the Oil Belt Highway Association gathering in Breckenridge to plan bonds for a hard surfaced road from Wichita Falls to Brownwood. De Leon also sent representatives for Comanche county. The goal is to have multiple counties start work together and vote new bonds to fund a lasting highway.

Miss Clyde Philips Dead at 48 in Comanche County
Miss Clyde Philips died at her sister Mrs. D L Hall’s home near Sidney and was buried Sunday at Board Church. She was 48, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W A Philips, lifelong Comanche county resident. Survived by brothers and sisters from Hardeman, Comanche, and Eldorado. A Missionary Baptist member, she faced life with cheer and faith. We extend sympathies to the bereaved families.
