On Friday night around 9 30 the Aurora Borealis lit the Comanche sky for the first time in about forty years. Citizens watched streaming white light appear from a red glow and debated causes from airplanes to fires in oil fields. Many went to bed missed the spectacle but the Sun paper later confirmed the extraordinary display.
The program lists events for Saturday March 30 at Comanche High School including Preliminary Declamation Spelling basketball track field events and finals for junior and senior divisions. A country picnic will be provided on the grounds with no admission charged to any department.
Capt. L. G. White receives promotion to General Staff under General Grebel. He becomes Divisional Inspector for all branches and a mounted officer at Camp Bowie, a highly responsible position. Congratulations are extended on the preferment.

The Mid Texas Teachers association will meet in Brownwood on March 22 and 23 this year with announced programs. Comanche County teachers named include Mrs. J. E. Deely Co Superintendent Miss Bess Hardin De Leon and Miss Edith Baten Gustine. Other honorees include Miss Ola Cunningham chairman of the High School section and Mr Holloway with Miss Gertie Hooker on committees.
The Young Men's Business League dispensed with its office behind the First National Bank this week. With no regular secretary and few meetings the group deemed the office an unwise investment and disposed of it. Mr. H. Burks will occupy the former premises.
M E Beaty this week sold the City Filling Station to C R M Dudley who will assume charge and operate it hereafter. Mrs M V Skinner has accepted a position with Slider Lacey in their dry goods department.
County election set for the first Saturday in April for trustees of the County and all school districts. County Trustees to be elected from Precinct 1 and Precinct 2. Citizens are urged to show interest by voting for these important officials.
