United Press reports in Texas Legislature HB 583 for Comanche County bans seines nets snags lines and traps in fresh waters. HB 553 allocates 750 to the State Game Fish and Oyster Commission for developing 11 public hunting grounds. HB 614 seeks 31 member commission with one member from each senator district.
De Leon voters will choose two city council members on April 1. Incumbents A. W. Sloan and Hollie Hallford are not seeking re election. Nominees for Place No. 1 are Ira Crow Otwell J M Holdridge C W H Timmens Sr and T T Carnes. For Place No. 2 the contenders are A C Schumann Woodie Thuebaun and Eldon Tervil. Mayor F T Daniell remains in office. Local obituaries note the March 5 death of W L Parker of Mena Arkansas.
