Cotton Meeting Here March 17
All farmers interested in raising cotton are urged to meet the County Agent and ginners in the county court room on Monday afternoon March 17 at 2 00 oclock. Many farmers want to plant cotton if cottonseed can be secured and pickers obtained. The meeting will cover this and include educational cotton material.
Comanche Resident 69 Years Loueasy Hodges Dies
Mrs. Loueasy Hodges aged 89 died Friday night March 6 at her daughter’s home in Comanche. Funeral services were held March 9 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Isham and Rev. McGinnis. interment in Zion Hill Cemetery. Born August 1 1857 in Georgia she moved to Texas as a child and lived in Comanche since 1878. Surviving children include two daughters in Comanche and a son in Rule plus 28 grandchildren 33 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was a charter member of Mount Pleasant Church.

Carden Field B Day Set For March 20
An educational Garden Field Day is planned in the District Court Room on March 20 at 1 30 pm with a spraying demonstration on orchard pests near Comanche at 10 30 am. Obituary: John Belt 81 Retired Farmer Dies at Home
John Belt 81 a retired Comanche County farmer died at his home Thursday March 6 after four years of declining health. Funeral services were held Sunday at Comanche Funeral Home with Rev J W Whitefield and Rev J D Smoot officiating. Interment in Taylors Chapel Cemetery. He was born February 19 1866 in Illinois and was married October 8 1891 to Laura Lancaster. Survived by son O E Belt and daughter Mrs Charlie Matthews with three infant deaths in infancy. He belonged to the Methodist Church at Cottonwood.
