Eight Comanche Girl Scout troops will present a special program Monday night at the Comanche Grammar School auditorium celebrating the 36th anniversary of Girl Scouting. More than 100 Girl Scouts will perform. No admission. The event was postponed from Friday night due to bad weather. Scout leaders urge participants to rehearse Sunday afternoon.
Work begins on the Comanche County Jail at 301 West Central to refresh the fifty year old building with a new roof wiring and plastering. Estimated cost around 6000 includes sand blasting and a stone fence and garage built from top-story material. Third floor cells will be relocated and modernization may include upgraded cells.
E L Terry owner of the North Side Cafe announces closure for a full week for remodeling. The cafe will close after Saturday March 20 and reopen Saturday March 27 with new fixtures and extensive improvements.

The Comanche VFW presents Your Face Is Familiar at Comanche High School Auditorium Friday night. A three act comedy directed by Mrs. Margaret Craddock features local actors led by Grace Lacy and Nate Basham. Fort Worth duo Hinds will perform piano violin acts. Girl Scout Troop No. 2 will deliver folk dances. Proceeds fund the Veterans Building in Comanche.
Millington Motor Company has begun remodeling the former Arthur Chevrolet building. The project costs about 8000 dollars and will add a glassed-in front plus interior and exterior renovations and modern garage equipment. Owner Hugh Millington says completion will take several weeks.

Bill Basham and R D Woods were elected Senior and Junior Vice Commanders, Armstead Rice Treasurer, with Claude Douglas Robert Grimes and Hezzie Dean as trustees.

A band concert will be held on the Courthouse square Friday afternoon March nineteen at 6 30 o clock. Band Director M T Camp will present his Junior Band consisting of seventh eighth and ninth grade students in a forty five minute program. The Conanche Junior Band has fifty five members.
