He was born December 6 1890 in Comanche County and lived there all his life. He married Stella Rixora Purt May 4 1919. she died March 17 1959. Survived by son Alvin G Cottrell Arlington two brothers Jeff Cottrell Brownfield Otis Cottrell Comanche a sister Aver Moore Sidney and one grandchild.

Rodney Earl Darden 82 of De Leon died at 4 15 am Monday in a De Leon hospital where he had been a patient since Friday Services were at 10 am Tuesday at the De Leon Assembly of God Church with Rev T W Chapman officiating Burial was in Girard Cemetery He was born October 27 1882 in Clyde and lived in Comanche County 35 years He was a cattleman and a Baptist He married Lucille Broughton Survived by his wife four daughters Lavada McJunkin De Leon Clara Bell Simmons Girard Dorothy Carene Khyan New York City NY and Ermadean Hodges Eastland three brothers Matt Jayton Frank Fort Worth and Sam Darden Bandera three grandchildren and four great grandchildren Sheri Kay Steele Brownwood spent last week with her grandparents Mr and Mrs Jim Steele.
